New York City CLT efforts
NYCCLI work groups include:
EDUCATION & OUTREACH
This work group is focused on creating and sharing popular-education materials to support community organizing and engagement. The work group, led by members of Picture the Homeless and other groups, developed NYCCLI’s comic posters and Trustville board game, and is in the process of creating new material to support emerging CLTs throughout NYC.
POLICY & ADVOCACY
How should government support CLTs and development led by directly-impacted communities? What policies need to be changed — or created — to facilitate creation and expansion of CLTs? NYCCLI’s Policy & Advocacy work group tackles these and other questions, and spearheads development of the alliance’s policy platform and strategy.
