Tell New York City: Keep Public Land in Public Hands
NYCCLI believes that public land must be used for public good. We are calling on the City of New York to prioritize community land trusts (CLTs) and other community-based nonprofits—rather than for-profit developers—when disposing of public land, to keep land and housing permanently-affordable and advance community-led development.
On August 11, 2022, Councilmember Lincoln Restler introduced legislation in the NYC Council to prioritize community land trusts and other non-profits in the disposition of publicly-owned land. Read about the bill and the rally at City Hall marking its introduction in here, and keep an eye on this page for updates and ways to get involved.
